Creative Liberation: The Transformative Power of Black Art, a gallery book that explores the vital role of Black artists during the 1960s and ’70s, particularly within the Civil Rights and Black Arts Movements. As a designer
and storyteller, I aim to highlight how musicians, poets, visual artists, and filmmakers shaped cultural identity, challenged racism and sexism, and inspired pride and progress. These creatives were not just artists—they
were community leaders and catalysts for change. Through curated works and historical context, the
project celebrates their legacy and ongoing influence on Black consciousness, proving that art is a
powerful force for reflection, resistance, and reimagining a better future.
